It's not often I get super excited being for a release in a series, because I can only imagine how much work authors need to put into each weird to make them blend together for that prefect harmony. Lee Savino's berserkers series is one of those that I keep begging to read the next one as soon as I finished.YOU NEED THIS SERIES IN YOUR LIBRARY because it's intriguing, different, and hotter than Hades in the middle of the summer.
I recommend reading the books in order, but this one can be read as a standalone. But, reading them in order helps you to better understand the dynamics, characters, and so many other aspects of the stories.
Get this book, I don't think you'll be disappointed

This is the fourth book in the original Berserker saga featuring Muriel and her two mates, Wulfgar and Fergus, but it is not all smooth sailing for the trio. This book has a few things that could be triggers for some, including adult language, erotic intimate scenes involving menage, violence and subterfuge. If any of these are triggers / offensive to you, then this may not be the book or series for you.
After Brenna followed by Sabine disappeared, the twins, Muriel and Fleur, were taken from their house at the edge of the city by the pack for protection. At first the two of them were kept in a cage until the Alphas determined there wasn't a risk of them being hurt by one or more of the Berserkers. After they were able to safely meet with the Highland Pack alphas, it was decided that they would hold a Highland style games to determine the strongest Berserker and they would become the mate to Muriel. She was attracted to Fergus, who had approached her while she was still in the cage to make her laugh and relax while he flirted. They had met a couple of times in secret, but because he was considered weak, no one really considered him a contender for her hand. Also, no one knew about his brother bond, which they used to their advantage. Toss in a crazy Berserker that is convinced she should be his, and the games take on a whole other dimension.
I don't want to give any twists or plots away, so I will stop there.
I volunteered to leave a honest review of an ARC from the author. Liked it so much that I just had to get it for my library.
I didn't think the author could surprise me but she did with this hot installment in the Berserkers set. This time they battle over the middle sister, Muriel. As she accepts her fate to bond with whoever wins her in the game even though she has fallen for the runt of the pack. Will she be lost to him forever or will a surprise savior step in. Will she grow to be the witch she is said to be? Love how the same characters keep reappearing. This is a mature sexy mmf book with hot threesome sex scenes, creative punishment, I mean ouch, so if any of that offends you please don't buy the book. Again I ask where can I find a Berserker?
This is Muriel, Fergus, and Wulfgar's story. Muriel and her twin sister, Fleur, are kidnapped the same night their sister, Sabine, disappears on her way home from the market. Strangers burst into their hut, throw them over their shoulders and carry them off. Muriel hits her head in the struggle and awakens to find herself and Fleur held in a cage made of saplings so tall and broad and woven so tightly that there is no way to escape. She has no idea where they are. Who are these men who have taken them? What do they want with the twins? Where was Sabine? Fergus is of the Highland Berserker pack. He is the smallest of the pack, the runt, and distinguished by his red hair both in his human and wolf forms. He has been bullied and taunted since becoming a Berserker but he is a spitfire. He is his own man and is not cowed by those who try to bully him, particularly Siebold, the biggest jerk in the pack! Fergus sneaks to the camp where Muriel and Fleur are being held by the Lowland Berserker pack. While in human form, he secretly speaks with Muriel and forms a bond with her, comforting her and assuring her all will be well. As he leaves, he comforts Muriel with the promise that he will always be near. She clings to his words and hopes she can believe him. Days later, after a summit, it's decided Muriel will be given to one of the Berserkers from one of the two packs as a mate. But how to make the decision? Of course! The Berserkers will hold a series of games to narrow the field to two finalists who will fight, perhaps to the death, to win Muriel as their prize. Muriel is sickened when she hears the news but knows there are too many Berserkers for her to escape. She must do her duty and hope to make the best of it. She wishes she could have what her sisters Brenna and Sabine have but it seems fate has taken that from her. On the day of the Games, Fergus does well initially but, sure enough, one of Siebold's cohorts makes an illegal play that takes Fergus out of the running for good. Muriel is crushed, her hope gone. What does it matter now who wins, as long as it isn't Siebold or one of his friends? Wulfgar is the third in line of the Highland Berserker pack. When the Games come to the final match, it is Wulfgar who is pitted against Siebold. Wulfgar is huge, a giant of a man, even for a Berserker. He has been kind to Muriel so she pins her hopes on him winning the contest and her. But Siebold has many tricks up his sleeve. He's a bully and doesn't play fair. This is a no-holds-barred contest. Weapons, shapeshifting, and even changing into Berserker form is allowed. There's no guarantee that Wulfgar will be the victor. As the final battle begins, Muriel holds her breath and tries her hardest not to give up hope. This is just the beginning of Muriel's story. What happens after the Games? Who ultimately wins, Wulfgar or Siebold? How will she deal with her devastation at losing her chance to be with Fergus, the one Berserker she has grown close to? What will be her ultimate fate as the mate of a Berserker regardless of who wins? What are her choices and what does the future hold?
Lee Savino has written yet another engrossing and thoroughly enchanting story that captivates and holds the reader enthralled for the entire book. I was completely immersed in this story. The twists and turns in the plot were so well-written that I literally didn't want to put the book down. It's full of magic, shapeshifters, a witch or two, and all kinds of excitement. I highly recommend this book if you are a fan of paranormal, shapeshifters, erotic romance or all three. You will not be disappointed.
I would be remiss if I did not make one final comment. This is an ADULT book. It contains very adult themes, explicit language, and sexual scenes. If you do not enjoy erotic romance with explicit sexual scenes then please carefully consider your purchase before starting this series. PLEASE DO NOT BUY ANY BOOK IN A GENRE YOU KNOW YOU WILL NOT ENJOY AND THEN LEAVE A NEGATIVE REVIEW OF THE BOOK AS IT IS NOT FAIR TO THE AUTHOR! She works hard to provide a quality work product and if you know before you purchase a book that you will object to the subject matter contained therein, you will be doing not only yourself, but the author, an extreme disservice. But if you do enjoy spicy, erotic romance, Ms. Savino's entire Berserker series is definitely one I would recommend.
